The Golf Club at South River is a Private 18 holes golf course located in Edgewater,Maryland.
South River first opened for play in 1996 as a public course.The course was designed by Brian Ault.
Over the years, the course developed a very loyal following of local golfers. In 2007, the decision was made to convert the course to a private golf club.
This course covers more than 165 acres. There are eight lakes and fourteen environmentally protected areas scattered throughout the course. The course is cut through a hardwood forest with fourteen bridges over the water and valleys. Wildlife is abundant on the course, with bald eagles flying overhead from time to time.
Par for the course is 72. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,723 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,935 yards.

Challenging, but enjoyable. A "green" course with preserved wet-lands and picturesque water hazards.

Played with a high handicapper and it was much too difficult for him with all of the environmental areas and forced carries. Using a temporary structure for the pro shop (probably for the rest of this season) while they relocate the cart barn and renovate the club house, but the bar/restaurant in the clubhouse was still in operation and was very nice.
